Bob Barker’s cause of death has been revealed.
The longtime host of The Price is Right died due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease, according to his death certificate, which was obtained by TMZ. The document stated the game show host had been living with the disease for “years.”
Hypertension, hypothyroidism, and hyperlipidemia (high cholesterol) were also listed as “other significant conditions” that led to Barker’s death.
While Barker, who died at 99, never publicly addressed his Alzheimer’s diagnosis, he struggled to stay healthy in recent years.
In addition to battling skin cancer, Barker suffered numerous falls around his house. Two incidents required a trip to the hospital, though each time he was released within a few hours after it was determined he did not suffer any major injury.
The Emmy-award winning host died August 26, just a few months short of his 100th birthday.
“It is with profound sadness that we announce that the World’s Greatest MC who ever lived, Bob Barker has left us,” Barker’s rep, Roger Neal, shared in a statement.
