Michael J. Fox is celebrated not only for his successful acting career but also for his dedication to his family. He and Tracy Pollan have been married for more than three decades and are parents to four children. Fox has often spoken about how important it is to be present for his kids, recognizing that even a small delay in giving them attention can mean missing a meaningful moment. Despite being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 1991, he has continued to be a loving and supportive presence in his family’s life.
Fox frequently shares moments from his family life on social media and takes great pride in his children’s achievements. His eldest son, Sam Michael Fox, was born in 1989 and has explored the entertainment world, including contributing to the documentary “Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie.” His twin daughters, Aquinnah and Frances, have followed their own academic and professional paths. Aquinnah attended Duke University, while Frances earned a Master of Education from Harvard University.
The youngest of the four, Esmé Annabelle Fox, was born in 2001 and later attended Duke University. She generally stays out of the spotlight but occasionally appears in her father’s social media posts. Fox has expressed immense pride in all of his children, describing them as compassionate, independent, generous, intelligent, and courageous. The family has remained close through both joyful milestones and challenging experiences, including the death of Fox’s mother, Phyllis, in 2022.
Outside of acting, Fox has become a major advocate for Parkinson’s disease research. Through his foundation, he has helped raise billions of dollars to fund research focused on better treatments and ultimately finding a cure. His perseverance, dedication to his family, and desire to help others have made him an inspirational figure. Above all, Fox continues to demonstrate how love, family, and resilience can provide strength through even the most difficult periods of life.
