Kate Middleton’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, has publicly praised the Princess of Wales after she completed the National Three Peaks Challenge while recovering from cancer. He said her determination and resilience deeply impressed him, describing the accomplishment as inspiring. The challenge involved climbing the highest peaks in Scotland, England, and Wales within 24 hours to raise funds for the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.

Goldsmith explained that Kate’s achievement reminded him of her childhood, when she enjoyed spending time outdoors and exploring nature with her family. According to him, her long-standing love of hiking and the countryside made the demanding challenge especially meaningful. He said watching her complete it filled him with admiration and reinforced his respect for her strength and perseverance.

He also spoke about his own serious health struggles after nearly losing his life in 2025 because of complications related to liver disease. Following the health scare, Goldsmith said he made significant lifestyle changes, including improving his diet, losing weight, and focusing on his overall well-being. He credited his sister, Carole Middleton, and other family members for providing encouragement and support throughout his recovery.

Goldsmith revealed that Kate encouraged him to look after his health by getting enough rest and adopting healthier habits. He said her advice motivated him to make positive changes in his life. Although he has faced public controversy in the past, including a 2017 assault conviction involving his wife that later attracted renewed attention during his appearance on Celebrity Big Brother UK, his recent comments focused on gratitude for his family’s support and admiration for Kate’s resilience.
